We, the undersigned, oppose the forced addition of fluoridation chemicals to our water supply.
Recent large U.S. studies and World Health Organization data show that drinking fluoridated water does NOT reduce tooth decay.
Instead, we support proven strategies for oral health: good nutrition, education, access to dental care.
STOP giving credit to water fluoridation for the results of brushing teeth with fluoridated toothpaste, a safer option that provides some benefit.
Swallowing fluoride puts many at risk, especially babies, elders and diabetics. Fluoridation chemicals remain in both recycled water and wastewater, contaminating groundwater, farms and fisheries.
Very low concentrations of fluoride in streams and rivers can inhibit salmon reproduction. One-size-fits-all medication is bad public policy and should NOT be required.
Allow California residents to apply the Precautionary Principle: When in doubt, leave it out.
Give us the legal right to make our own choices about drinking controversial, risky fluoridated water.
